Vietnam’s durian industry is entering a new phase of competition, where pricing, output and delivery speed must go hand in hand with traceability, quality control and transparent supply chain operations. In this context, the 2nd Asian Durian Conference in Vietnam is expected to become an important meeting point between Vietnamese suppliers and Chinese buying networks.
DakAgo Company Limited is expected to collaborate with VCCI, iFresh, Durian Industry Network and relevant partners to organise the programme, with the aim of strengthening trade connections, promoting supply chain transparency and expanding cooperation opportunities for Vietnam’s durian industry.
According to the proposed plan, the conference is expected to take place from 13 to 16 July 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City. The event is expected to bring together exporters, growers, cooperatives, growing area code holders, packing facilities, logistics providers, supporting businesses in the durian sector, as well as buyers, importers, retail systems and agricultural distribution companies from China.
When the supply chain becomes a competitive advantage
Durian is currently one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing agricultural export sectors. However, market opportunities are increasingly tied to stricter import requirements. Each shipment must demonstrate clear origin, quality, growing area documentation, packing capacity, post-harvest handling and stable delivery capability.
For the Chinese market, buyers are paying greater attention to the consistency of the entire supply chain. A commercially qualified durian is assessed not only by its taste or appearance, but also by the process behind it: registered growing areas, properly managed packing facilities, clear documentation, stable specifications and the ability to fulfil orders in line with market requirements.
This is why the 2nd Asian Durian Conference in Vietnam is being developed around the theme of connecting the Vietnam–China durian supply chain. The programme is expected to create a space for buyers and suppliers to meet, while opening opportunities for industry stakeholders to review production practices, standardise product quality and build trust with international partners.
DakAgo’s role in domestic trade connection
In this programme, the participation of VCCI is expected to strengthen connections with the Vietnamese business community. iFresh and Durian Industry Network bring specialised industry networks, trade promotion experience and connections with the Chinese market.
As a co-organising partner, DakAgo participates as a domestic connection point within the agricultural supply chain. The company supports information flow between the Organising Committee and cooperatives, growers, growing areas, packing facilities and supporting businesses in the durian sector. At the same time, DakAgo contributes to bringing real market demand closer to domestic producers, packers and exporters.
DakAgo believes that trade connection is only valuable when the right partners meet, the right standards are understood, and both sides have a practical basis for continued cooperation after the event. For this reason, the conference is expected to go beyond general networking and focus on practical discussions around fruit quality, product specifications, traceability, logistics and long-term cooperation conditions.
A representative of DakAgo shared:
“DakAgo expects the 2nd Asian Durian Conference in Vietnam to become a practical meeting point for the durian industry. We hope to bring Vietnamese enterprises, growers and cooperatives closer to international buyers, allowing both sides to exchange directly on quality standards, market demand and long-term cooperation opportunities.”
Connecting supply and demand on the foundation of transparency
According to the proposed agenda, the programme is expected to include thematic conference sessions, B2B trade connection activities, product and service exhibition areas, business networking programmes and field visits to growing areas, packing facilities or supply chain operators.
These activities are expected to give Chinese buyers a clearer basis for assessing the supply capabilities of Vietnamese partners. At the same time, domestic enterprises will have the opportunity to hear market requirements directly, better understand how buyers evaluate a qualified shipment, and prepare more effectively for official export activities.
As agricultural trade increasingly depends on standards, data and transparency, direct connection between each link in the supply chain has become more important than ever. From growing areas and packing facilities to exporters, logistics providers, distributors and retailers, every stage contributes to the reputation of Vietnamese durian in the international market.
Through its participation in co-organising the 2nd Asian Durian Conference in Vietnam, DakAgo expects to contribute to a more professional, transparent and effective trade environment for the durian industry. This also aligns with the direction of strengthening Vietnam–China supply chain connectivity, expanding trade opportunities and enhancing the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market.
